Pierce County Busted Mugshots
Booking at the Pierce County Jail creates an administrative trail. It shows who came in, when custody started, and any charges logged then. The Sheriff's Office runs the jail and keeps those records. Want a booking photo or a county record? Go straight to the Sheriff. What the public actually gets is a daily PDF In Custody List. There is no name-searchable photo gallery. Arrests may come from the Sheriff, a municipal department, the DOC, or another agency, and the roster names that arresting agency even though the jail record stays with the Sheriff.
Arrest, booking, and case outcome are three different things. An arrest is a police event. A booking is a jail event. Charges listed at booking can change, be dropped, or resolve differently in court later. The PDF shows custody status and release information, nothing more. For how a case ended, pull the public circuit-court record instead.
A booking entry in Pierce County marks a busted suspect's arrival into the jail system, nothing more. Mugshots, charges, and roster details all come from that single arrest event.
Pierce County Booking Record Fields
The official daily PDF offers the clearest look at the fields. It is a dated custody snapshot, headed as people housed at Pierce County, not a court document. Names alone are not unique. So read any name match together with the booking date and the arresting agency. The fields also separate a current custody notation from a recorded release. That distinction keeps an old daily file from being mistaken for who is held right now.
| Field | What the Pierce County daily PDF shows |
|---|---|
| Name | Identifies the listed person, but needs date and agency context to avoid a name match error. |
| Booking date and time | Records the jail booking event, not necessarily the time or place of an alleged offense. |
| Release date and time | Appears when available and indicates a release under that entry, not a final case result. |
| Custody status and bail | Shows administrative custody or bond context that can change after the dated report. |
| Arresting agency and charges | Lists the agency and charges as booked. Those charges may not match the later court outcome. |
| Photo, booking number, court date | These were not displayed as public roster fields in the reviewed PDF. |
Note: The daily list preserves booking context, but its fields do not replace the court docket or a custodian response to a specific request.
Pierce County Busted Photo Requests
Need a specific booking record or photo? The Sheriff's written Access to Public Records procedure is the way in. The Sheriff serves as legal custodian of Office records under Chapter 19. Ask orally or in writing during normal records hours. Requests must be reasonably specific. A tight, narrow request works better than a broad demand for every record tied to a name.
- Give the full name and a date of birth only when it is needed to distinguish similar names.
- Provide the booking date, time, or a narrow date range, and identify Pierce County Jail as the location.
- Name the exact item sought, such as a booking sheet, booking record, or dated roster copy. State a booking photograph as a separate requested item.
- Ask the Records Department about availability, redactions, and the actual direct cost after review.
Law Enforcement Center
555 West Overlook Drive, P.O. Box 9
Ellsworth, WI 54011
Phone: 715-273-5051
Request hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The procedure promises a response as soon as practicable and without delay. That is not a fixed booking-photo deadline. Denials can be whole or partial, where records do not exist or cannot be reached. A denied written request gets a written denial back. So a precise date and record description matter most. They help when someone may have been booked and released between public roster updates.
Pierce County Busted Mugshot Law
Wisconsin has no stand-alone statewide law forcing mugshot publication or granting a universal right to delete one. Access runs through the Public Records Law, chiefly Wis. Stat. §§ 19.31, 19.35, and 19.36, along with confidentiality limits and the custodian's record-by-record review. The Wisconsin DOJ public-records guidance treats access and retention as related but separate questions. A request can be granted, redacted, or denied as the law permits.
Is an agency record wrong? Start with the custodian or the relevant court process. Adult expunction under Wis. Stat. § 973.015 is narrow and case-specific. The official court form search includes CR-266 and CR-267. Sealing or redaction takes a court decision, never a clerk acting alone. Expunction of a court record does not automatically touch every law-enforcement record, and no eligibility follows from a booking date alone.
Some private publishers offer free, documentation-based correction paths. RecentlyBooked asks for identifying information, a reason, and support under its published policy; Mugshots.com describes documentation-based record maintenance in its own policy. Those are private procedures, not official custody records or guarantees of action. Once a source removes or substantially changes material, Google's Refresh Outdated Content tool can request a search-result update, though it will not remove a live, unchanged source.
Pierce County Busted Booking Timing
Timing here follows a precise local rule. The Pierce County Jail Roster page says the previous day's report uploads by 6 a.m. So the current day's file is never the public starting point. On a Wednesday, for instance, Tuesday is the current public report, and Wednesday appears by 6 a.m. Thursday.
Do not treat a same-day absence as meaningful. No official current-day or 24-hour recent-booking feed exists. For an urgent question, contact the jail or Records Department directly, or simply review the next published file. A secondary listing is no substitute for that missing official channel.
Note: The published schedule answers when a prior-day report may appear, not whether a particular person is currently in custody.
Pierce County Busted Roster PDFs
The Sheriff's online product is seven day-specific PDFs. It is not an interactive name-search interface or a rolling arrest log. Each file carries a weekday label. Inside you may find in-custody and released entries, booking and release times, bail, the arresting agency, charge descriptions, and charge-status text. That mix makes it a daily custody list with history fields, not a list of only new arrests.
Only seven reports are stated as available online. The web window says nothing about how long the underlying records survive. Pierce County Code § 36-13 schedules daily inmate rosters, jail logs, jailer logs, and jail dockets for eight years, and inmate photos or photo records for the same span. Booking sheets are kept permanently. Inmate files last eight years after release. A file dropping off the site is not a destruction date.
Pierce County Busted Photo Boundary
Don't expect photos from the daily roster. The Pierce County file the public sees carries no booking image. The Sheriff's Office runs no online photo-search tool or published photo policy either. So a photo hunt has to go through the Sheriff's records request route, where the custodian decides what gets released and what gets redacted. The Pierce County Sheriff's Office page shows which office owns that process.
That page tells you who holds the records. Getting a photo, though, is its own call, made one request at a time.
Pierce County Booking Record Fees
Pierce County does publish a fee schedule, but it names no set price for a booking record or photo. The Sheriff's procedure charges $0.25 per page for incident, accident, and extra-information files, $5 for a reproduced DVD or CD, plus current postage. Labor-heavy media or location work is billed at the wage of the lowest-capable employee. Other actual and direct costs can ride along too.
The county code adds two wrinkles. A location fee kicks in only once it hits $50, and prepayment can be required when fees top $5. None of this adds up to a guaranteed quote. Ask Records what the materials cost after they look, rather than guessing at a photo price up front.
Where Pierce County Busted Mugshots Appear
Let official sources lead the way. The roster and Records Department handle the county side, while WCCA covers the courts. Secondary sites can drop hints. Still, their update claims, labels, and custody statements need checking. The table below keeps those roles straight and never treats a commercial photo page as the last word.
| Channel | Photo shown? | Official? | What it answers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pierce County daily roster | No public photo field reviewed | Yes | Dated Pierce County Jail custody, release, bail, agency, and booking-charge context. |
| Sheriff Records | Only if the custodian releases a requested record | Yes | A narrow booking-record or photo request, subject to review and redaction. |
| WCCA | No booking-photo function | Yes | Public Pierce County circuit-court events and disposition context. |
| Pierce County Journal | Story-dependent, not a roster | No | Weekly agency-attributed jail, police, or court reporting. |
| RecentlyBooked | May show images | No | Unofficial county browsing context. Its claimed update rate is not a Sheriff schedule. |
| Mugshots.com | May show images | No | Unofficial historical county and city material, not a current jail roster. |
Check RecentlyBooked and Mugshots.com against the roster and court record. Never trust them alone. AllJailSearch mixed up similarly named counties. FindMugshots had restricted access. Neither one can back up a Pierce County custody claim. For local reporting you can trace to a source, the Pierce County Journal helps. It is not a full booking database, though. Treat it as one lead among several.
Finding Pierce County Recent Arrests
A smart lookup follows the data. Start with the official daily file. Wait until the date is old enough to have posted. Then turn to Sheriff Records for older or more specific booking items. Court records cover everything that came after booking. This path also catches a short jail stay. A delayed daily file might miss one.
- Open the official roster landing page and select the report for the relevant day.
- Use the PDF viewer's text-find feature for the name, then read the booking, release, status, agency, bail, and charge context together.
- For a same-day question, wait for the next public file or ask the jail or Records Department about the proper focused inquiry.
- For an exact booking record or requested photo, contact Sheriff Records with a narrow date range and item description.
- Use WCCA to locate the Pierce County public case and read the events and disposition.
Questions about a wanted person go through the county's Most Wanted Fugitives information, since no verified Sheriff warrant portal exists. A roster entry is not a warrant index.
Pierce County Jail Roster Search
The official roster page skips the usual search boxes. No name field. No booking number, agency, charge filter, or date range either. You pick one of the Sunday-to-Saturday PDFs instead. Then use the viewer's own text-find tool. Report dates matter here. Each file is a snapshot of the prior day. That plain design is why a third-party search result can't stand in for the Sheriff's actual roster.
| Search need | Official roster method | Limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Use text-find inside the selected PDF. | No dedicated name field exists. |
| Booking number | Ask Records if a specific responsive record is needed. | Not displayed in the reviewed public PDF. |
| Agency or charge | Read those fields after locating the listed entry. | No public filter is provided. |
| Date range | Open each available dated report. | Only seven prior reports are stated online. |
The official roster landing page shows the daily-document format and the available report window.
Think of this interface as a dated document index. The report you pick, and its context, matter as much as the name you type.
Pierce County Booking Feed Gap
Pierce County has no verified same-day booking feed. The public list starts with the prior day's report. The seven posted files are not one rolling seven-day arrest log. Each may mix in-custody and released entries. The set works for a date window, not as a live locator.
Past the online window, Sheriff Records is the local fallback. The Journal's recurring Jail Log may add secondary reporting on its own schedule. It can't replace the Sheriff record, though. When a name drops off a list, the reason could be release, transfer, or a different report date. Confirm the actual custody status before assuming anything.
Note: Seven public PDFs provide a short dated window, not a promise of same-day coverage or a searchable long-term online archive.
Pierce County Busted Cases After Booking
Booking data and court outcomes live in separate worlds. The roster may list charges, status text, bail, and booking or release times. It shows no case number or final disposition. An adult case can run through an initial appearance, a charging decision, bond terms, hearings, dismissal, plea, trial, sentencing, or some other end. The booking label alone can't tell you which.
Wisconsin Circuit Court Access, or WCCA, is the statewide public route to Pierce County circuit-court files. Search by name first. Then narrow with county, case type, or date filters. Read the events and the disposition, not just a headline result. WCCA holds public information, not certified copies. For the official court file, contact the Clerk of Court.
Note: A released status only ends the listed jail custody entry, not the case itself, which may still be dismissed, changed, or resolved.
Pierce County Court and Custody Records
Two offices split the record work here. The Pierce County Courthouse, at 414 W. Main St. in Ellsworth, holds the court files, and its circuit-court clerk answers questions at 715-273-3531 after a public WCCA search. Sheriff Records is the separate stop when you need a booking record or a photo from the jail side. Keep in mind that court files can be sealed, redacted, or simply absent from the online system. An empty WCCA result is not an official clearance. For statewide context, the Wisconsin Courts case-search hub covers what the state's court-search system can show you.
After a booking, the court system becomes the next place to look. It builds on the Sheriff's custody paperwork rather than replacing it, so treat the two as separate record sources.
Pierce County Busted Notifications
The official Pierce County Sheriff WI app shows up in its Apple and Google listings as a tool for reporting non-emergency issues, passing along tips, and getting public-safety news plus county-agency links. Nothing in those descriptions promises an inmate lookup, a booking photo, a booking feed, or a warrant check. In short, the app works fine as a public-safety contact tool. It just is not a booking-record source.
VINE plays a different role entirely. Per River Falls, Wisconsin VINE delivers automated notice when a person's custody status changes through the county Sheriff. That makes it useful for status alerts. Still, it is not a photo search, a sentencing record, or a daily arrest feed, so rely on the roster, the Records Department, and WCCA for those jobs.
Pierce County Mugshots by City
Where an incident started shapes which police department wrote it up. Where the person was booked decides where the adult jail record lives. River Falls runs no city jail of its own. It also straddles county lines. So the booking spot matters more than the arresting agency. Prescott and Ellsworth keep municipal police records. Booking questions at Pierce County Jail go straight to the Sheriff. None of the three mapped departments publishes a verified daily arrest roster or photo page.
- River Falls Busted Mugshots: River Falls Police records and the appropriate county booking location.
- Prescott Busted Mugshots: Prescott Police incident records and the Pierce County Jail fallback.
- Ellsworth Busted Mugshots: Village police records versus Sheriff jail custody records in the county seat.
When you want agency-attributed reporting from these communities, the county's Crime News coverage keeps local journalism clearly apart from official jail and court records.
Pierce County DOC and Federal Custody
A Wisconsin DOC sentence moves a person out of the county system entirely. That later custody or supervision period belongs to the state, not the county roster. The Wisconsin DOC Offender Locator is the official tool for it. DOC record requests go through DOC's own portal. That portal will not produce a county booking photo.
Federal custody sits in yet another lane. The Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator tracks federal inmates from 1982 forward. It offers no Pierce County booking-photo roster, though. ICE's detainee locator only fits when immigration custody is the actual question, and it cannot stand in for a county jail search. A BOP release notice, or the absence of an ICE result, proves nothing about status elsewhere.
